In 1980, Suiken aimed to improve the most important safety of joints in lifelines and developed the industry’s first ductile cast iron ball-type flexible expansion joint. The “SUPER FLEX” offers substantial deformation absorption capabilities in all directions, with over 110,000 units in use. It has demonstrated excellent seismic quality by protecting pipelines from separation and damage during major earthquakes, including the San Francisco earthquake (1989), the Los Angeles earthquake (1994), and the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake (1995) and others.
